Slight Risk for Severe Weather

Good afternoon,
First of all, I would like to notify you that I created a Facebook page for GA Weather Plus. Please go and like it! https://www.facebook.com/gaweatherplus
Second, we are looking at a major rain storm for our area combined with t-storms all the way through Tuesday. The SPC put our western counties in a Slight Risk of severe weather for tonight. Here is a map with the counties included:

We are now in severe weather awareness mode and all severe weather watches/warnings will be posted on our Facebook page as they come into the GA Weather Plus Forecast Center.
I will have an update tonight with some maps perhaps for this rainstorm and possible severe storms for the next few days.

**WINTER WEATHER ALERT UPDATED INFORMATION**

Here is a video I created regarding the winter weather threat for North GA tonight and tomorrow morning.

**WINTER WEATHER ALERT**

Good Monday evening,
As I mentioned on Saturday, we are going to see a system around Thanksgiving. It si very likely now that we will see winter weather. In fact, there is a Winter Weather Advisory and a Freezing Rain Advisory out for portions of North Georgia. The advisories are for tonight, because there will be a lot of sleet in North Georgia and definitely some ice accumulations up to 0.1 inch. in the higher elevations above 2000 feet.
For tomorrow, we have a Flood Watch in effect, because a lot of North Georgia will see 3-4 inches of rain. We  may see flash flooding too. Eventually, this will start turning to snow tomorrow night, so I am expecting a new Winter Weather Advisory issued tomorrow. Areas above 2000 feet will change to snow tomorrow night earliest, and eventually by the late night/early morning hours, all of North Georgia will be seeing snow showers. Although rural areas and low-elevation areas will see minimal accumulations of up to a trace, areas above 2000 feet will likely see between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of snow. I will have a snow map out tomorrow. After the system exits, it will be very windy and cold for Wednesday, with highs in the 30s and 40s for much of Georgia. This cold air will continue into Thanksgiving Day, with highs staying in the 40s and low 50s.
Meanwhile, here is a map of the current advisories/watches across Georgia.

Weak Storms Popping Up

Even though most of the line is becoming weaker as it starts entering Dade County, GA, more storms have popped up across Alabama and Georgia. There might be some weather advisories with these, even though I do not think there will be anything severe. Here is the radar image.

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Storms Shifting Southeast

Even though I think the line will weaken, here is what I think is possible over the next several hours. It may change, so I will have you updated.

Severe Storms Still Possible

Good evening,
It still looks like there might be severe storms in our area tonight.  A strengthening line in Tennessee is now heading through the state of TN and may eventually reach Georgia and Alabama. I make today a Severe Weather Awareness Day, so all warnings/watches will be posted tonight. Main threats will be some wind, although a tornado cannot be completely ruled out in the extreme northwest corner of the state.

Next Major Cold Front

Good evening,
It has been quiet as of lately across Georgia. However, the next major system is shaping up in the West. This will be a fast moving cold front producing damaging winds and tornadoes on Sunday across the Lower Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley. By late Sunday afternoon, the cold front will approach our coverage area, and there will be some storms especially in the northwest section of the state. The squall line will pass with some strong winds in the late evening through Northwest Georgia, and probably around 1 AM through the state's capital. It will continue to push through the state and weaken at the same time, becoming mainly a rain threat by Monday for southern Georgia and the coastal areas. I will post an update early Sunday, but meanwhile, here is my map for Sunday and Monday for Georgia.

**MAJOR** Cold Blast Next Week

Good evening GA folks,
How was last winter? Disappointing, eh? Maybe a few flurries at your house? Comment what you got last winter below! Anyway, it does not look like this winter will be the same. It might be better. In fact, a huge Artcic block following a cold front and a weak system will arrive next week, and bring frigid air. This will very well bring the first snow of the season to the state of Georgia. All models are in good agreement of flurries in the Atlanta metro area to about an inch of accumulations in the higher elevations of Dawson, Union, Towns, Murray, White, Gordon, Gilmer, and Rabun counties. The precipitation will arrive Tuesday afternoon and stick through Tuesday night and possibly into Wednesday morning. Below is my precipitation type forecast for Tuesday into Wednesday.

Also, here is my snowfall forecast for the same time period.

In addition, there might be slight travel problems north of I-20 Wednesday morning, as some ice may form slick spots on roads, especially bridges.
I will have an update tomorrow night and possibly again Tuesday afternoon.
Stay tuned!

Light Rain Tonight/Tomorrow

After a sunny week in Georgia, there is a chance of showers with a cold front tonight and tomorrow. Most of the heavier rain will be in the extreme northwest corner of Georgia. Here is a map explaining the rain chances tonight and tomorrow.

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Rain Timeline

The rain has begun for northern Georgia. Although severe weather is not likely, there will be winds with the rain. the rain will move through Atlanta starting 11 PM, and continue moving into Central Georgia overnight. Tomorrow, there will be damaging winds likely across Central and South Georgia with a squall line of severe storms forming. Also, a brief tornado or two might be possible embedded with the line. Also, for tonight,  there might be a second round of storms coming in. There are some strong storms currently in Mississippi, and although these will probably weaken by the time they get here, there might still be gusty winds.

**Severe Weather HALLOWEEN EVENING**

Good afternoon,
It has come into my attention that the Storm Prediction Center has portions of Georgia in a severe weather risk are for both Day 2 (Halloween) and Day 3 (Friday). A strong cold front will be moving in with high wind shear, modest instability, and seasonal moisture. The dynamics are pretty good, so Georgia will see at least some severe weather with this system, consisting of at least isolated damaging winds. Although there is a tornado chance, it seems to be low currently. Below is the Storm Prediction Center's outlook for Halloween.

As you can see, most of the action will be to our west during the day. Places like Memphis, Tennessee, Paducah, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio, will see damaging winds and isolated tornadoes somewhere in the area. However, by evening, around 8-9 PM, the pre-frontal zone of activity will begin approaching Georgia, and after 9 or 10 PM, there could be a threat for some damaging wind gusts in northern and western Georgia. Also, if there will be any tornadoes with this front, tomorrow evening in North Georgia might be the only time when they might happen. Nevertheless, I doubt that there will be enough rotating storms or rotation within them to produce anything more than just damaging winds. Still, if you live in areas to the north of I-20 and to the west of I-85, you might want to change your outdoor Halloween plans to indoors. And if your kid does decide to go trick-or-treating, they must definitely go inside if they hear thunder. Below is the Storm Prediction Center's outlook for Friday.

Again, a lot of the state of Georgia will be in a risk area for severe storms. A lot of this might be late during the night, between 2 and 6 AM, but during daytime, additional storms will fire up in central and southern Georgia. Although the line will be a lot weaker, the marginal threat for damaging winds will still exist, although the tornado threat will be near zero. Below is my preliminary timeline for the severe storms tomorrow night into Friday.

Thank you for tuning in. An update will be posted tomorrow afternoon.

Cold Blast Forecast

Good afternoon,
Many of you in the state of Georgia were probably experiencing windy and chilly conditions all morning. The wind seems to be subsiding a bit finally.
A Frost Advisory will be in effect tonight for a good chunk of Georgia.

Temperatures will range from the upper 30s across Central Georgia to the upper 20s in the high elevations of North-Central and Northeast Georgia. You need to take indoors or cover all plants, as well as take pets indoors. If the necessary precautions are not taken, damage to plants and animals might happen. Here is a link to the full warning text by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia: http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=GAZ033&warncounty=GAC121&firewxzone=GAZ033&local_place1=&product1=Frost+Advisory#.Umgw2vlJ6So

Here is my forecast for tonight's lows.

Just in case, if anyone is wondering, there will be NO snow with this system anywhere in Georgia. At best, there will be a few sprinkles tomorrow evening, but even that is almost out of the picture.

The second part of the cold blast will occur on Friday, so an update will be out tomorrow evening or Friday morning.

Mark

Quick Update

It is now very windy and pretty chilly across much of Georgia. The cold blast has started. There are frost advisories in effect for a big portion of North and Central Georgia. A more detailed update with maps will come out in the next few hours.

Next Week's Frost/Freeze Forecast

Here is the preliminary forecast map that I created regarding next week's cold blast. Please note that the map is partially based on elevations as well as model data.

Showers Today & Possible Cold Snap Next Week

Good afternoon,
After a week of very quiet weather across Georgia, today we are experiencing some showers across the state. This activity will continue to transition into the central and southern portions of the state through the afternoon and evening, leaving cloudy skies in north Georgia.
Tomorrow, there will still be showers and isolated thunderstorms, with the main threat being lightning, across south Georgia. After that, a new wave of activity will move into Georgia on Saturday, bringing drizzle and showers across central and southern Georgia. Although the ECMWF model shows drizzle in north Georgia too, it will probably be limited to the central and southern portions of the state.
Finally, more showers will reach Georgia next week, around Tuesday, but it is too early to outline what exactly will be going on.
In addition, there is another big matter on the clock that is shaping up for the end of next week. Preliminary model runs suggest a massive cold front to push through on Tuesday/Wednesday, bringing a huge cold blast for Thursday/Friday. All mountains above 3000 feet in northern Georgia will have a chance to get below freezing during the night. Areas as far as the Atlanta metro area will be experiencing a frost during the night. Please be aware that this could damage plants, so make sure you cover your plants if this trend continues.
Daytime temperatures might not get out of the 50s across the Atlanta metro area and even portions of the Piedmont, and will likely remain in the 40s at elevations above 3000 feet. Some places above 4500 feet could actually not get higher than 43 degrees. While this is still preliminary, you should be aware of this, and stay tuned to Georgia Weather Plus for updates on this situation.
I will have a preliminary map out this evening, and another update next week.
Stay tuned!

Pleasant Fall Weather

So far, fall has finally settled in for real. We have these strings of days that have fall-like weather cross the state of Georgia. It is sunny day after day now, and will continue to be so through the weekend and early next week. This is the kind of weather, which would fit your outdoor plans, or maybe just resting out there in the sun! High pressure is very deep here (around 1019 millibars) and that  is the reason for the sunny dry weather.
However, a front will finally arrive late next week and possibly into next weekend, producing showers and possibly a few storms. This is far out, so I am not really worried about it just yet.
A summary map regarding the high pressure for the weekend and the front by late next week will be posted tonight or tomorrow.

Severe Weather This Evening

Good afternoon,
A few days ago, I mentioned that Tropical Storm Karen will impact Georgia. Well, since then, it dissipated, and left only a strong cold front that will be coming through Georgia this evening. Areas along and west of I-85 will have a chance to see small hail, gusty winds, brief minor flash flooding, and a few isolated tornadoes. Most of the activity will be between 7 PM and 1 AM. The enhanced threat for severe storms will be in Walker, Chatooga, and Dade Counties in extreme northwest Georgia, and that will be between 7 and 10 PM.
I classify today as a Severe Weather Awareness Day, so all severe weather (severe thunderstorm and tornado) warnings will be posted.
Stay tuned!

Tropical Storm Karen

Tropical Storm Karen has formed in the Southern Gulf of Mexico east of the Yucatan Peninsula! It is expected to reach hurricane strength and landfall anywhere from New Orleans to Pensacola. This hurricane will weaken as it will head inland, but it will impact Georgia during late Sunday into Monday. Rainfall could be possible from 1 inch to as much as 4 inches. In addition, wind gusts of 30 - 45 MPH accompanied by weak tornadoes will be likely. Now is the time to prepare for this system and get your emergency plans ready.
I will have an outlook or several outlooks out tomorrow or Saturday for this system. It is too early now, because the track may still change. Here is the National Hurricane Center's graphic about Tropical Storm Karen.

Dry Weekend

A good fall pattern has set in with high pressure dominating Georgia, so the weekend should be as dry as it can get. The next rain chance seems to be with a front on Monday.

More Rain

After rain totals varying from 1 to 3 inches last Saturday, another rainfall event is on the way. Confidence is 90% that tonight and tomorrow will bring 0.5-2 inches of rain across the state. A map will be out tonight.

Wet Weekend

The day before yesterday I mentioned I will be working on some forecasts for a possible wet weekend here in Georgia. I decided that it was too early to do it at that time, but by early today, I can tell a lot more clearly that this Saturday, if not even Sunday too, will be filled with rain and even severe weather. A cold front will be approaching from the west, and a moist air mass will settle in the Southeast, all bringing up precipitation. All of you who are planning outdoor plans on Saturday, you may keep them, but be prepared that earlier or later in the day there will be rain and/or storms with the front passage. You may get lucky to get onto an afternoon super cell as well.
Sunday, it will be the southern portions of the state that will be seeing storms, but they still may be in good shape. You may still want to look out for changes in outdoor plans, if you are in South GA for Sunday.
Here is my forecast for this weekend.

As you see by the map above, southern Georgia will experience rain, locally heavy, and it is hard to tell right now, but there maybe a Tropical System Jerry mixed into it, if when it forms it heads our way. Regardless, deep tropical moisture will pound South GA by rain. Meanwhile, central regions of Georgia will be experiencing scattered thunderstorms with the front as well as afternoon cells. Most of these will be very marginally severe for now. The mountains of northern Georgia and the greater Atlanta metropolitan area will be experiencing the worst fo the activity. The front will bring a line of severe thunderstorms with small hail, lightning, rain, and some wind. The details are not clear yet. Fortunately, ti will be only on Saturday. In fact, North Georgia should be experiencing awesome weather on Sunday after the temperature will drop 12-16 degrees with the front.
More updates regarding this stormy weekend threat will come throughout this week!!

Quiet Weather

Please excuse the lack of posts for the past 10 days. The weather across Georgia has been quiet, and I am sure you enjoyed this dry weekend! The North Georgia Mountains and towns like Blairsville and Hiawassee had lows in the lower 50s!!
Isolated thunderstorms can be expected for the next few days across Georgia, but a system is expected to arrive later in the week to Georgia, and signs suggest that the weekend may be wet. I will work on a bigger post later today.

The Rain Chances are Increasing

Good afternoon,
I hope all of you have been enjoying the past few dry, sunny, and warm days. Today and tomorrow, I am expecting highs from the low 90s to low 100s across all of Georgia.
Unfortunately, today is the last dry day. Starting tomorrow, thunderstorm chances will gradually start increasing, with the highest chances very unfortunately Saturday through Monday. It looks like Labor Day will be wet, and the day before somewhat wet too. Even Saturday could experience some scattered heavy rainfall.
Here are some of my thoughts about the rain
The best rain chances on Thursday will be on the south and east sides of the state. They will consist of scattered thunderstorms that will gradually develop into a string.
Friday and Saturday, scattered thunderstorms will train across the whole state.
Sunday and Monday, the thunderstorms will likely be closely organized, and things might approach a washout. I am expecting 0.75 - 1.5 inches of rain across the state during the next 7 days.
Tomorrow, a forecast map for Labor Day will be out. Another one will be out on Sunday, probably more updated.
Thanks for tuning in!

Several Dry Days Followed by the Approach of Rain and Possible Severe Weather

Good morning,
Like I mentioned, Friday and Saturday were not fully dry, as both days there were showers and thunderstorms scattered across the region, with Friday even bringing some strong ones across the extreme northern and southern parts of the state.
However, we are looking for a mostly dry Sunday, and even drier Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately, humidity and heat will be back too, due to a heat ridge slowly moving east into the Eastern US. I will have a map regarding how hot the temperatures will be the next few days out later today.
Here is what I am expecting for the day today.

Now, will this dry and hot weather continue for a long time? That is not quite true. It will continue probably through Wednesday. After that, a cold front will be diving into the Southeast, with some rain, thunderstorms, and perhaps severe weather, which is too early to tell yet. The cold front will give temperatures a plunge, and it might be that a taste of autumn will follow.
Here is what I am expecting Thursday.

Holiday greetings! Stay right here at Georgia Weather Plus to get a sneak peak at the Labor Day 2013 forecast for Georgia! A discussion will be up on Tuesday, and a forecast map will be out next weekend.

Wet Saturday Followed by Pleasant Dry Spell

So far this week has been wet for many across the state of Georgia, but I have some good news for y'all!
It does look like a  pleasant dry spell is coming next week. However, we are going to get more rain before it, and to be exact, I am expecting some rain showers across the state on Saturday.
Let us take a look at my projected setup for Sunday through Tuesday of next week.

According to this map, a block will setup over the Plains bringing up a heat ridge. Because of this block, dry air will be driven into the east, bringing sunshine and unfortunately, humidity and heat too. However, there will be showers on Saturday, but by Sunday, they will be driven away into Louisiana and Mississippi as shown above. However, by Wednesday or Thursday of next week, a cold front will arrive, and the showers and storms will be back!
I am expecting around 0.5 inches of rain as the most across Georgia on Saturday.
Stay tuned!

More Heavy Rain Coming!

Good morning everybody,
So far we had a wet start to the weekend, and around 0.5 to 2 inches fell on Saturday across Georgia, with the highest amounts across the southwestern counties of the state. Now, you probably long to ask, will this wet weather continue for Sunday? Absolutely. In fact, several factors will likely make today a washout! First of all, tropical moisture will be on the right track to hit the state, especially the western counties. Also, the approach of a low-pressure system together with a stationary front slowly rising to the west-northwest will bring in an all-day moderate to heavy rain event across much of Georgia. Please cancel all your outdoor plans for today, as we could be getting over 2 inches of rain in Southwest Georgia and even as much as an inch as far as the northwest sections of the state.
In addition, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia, issued a Flash Flood Watch through tonight.
In short, today is a River/Flash Flooding Awareness Day, and I recommend that all interests in Georgia -- especially those, who live roughly south of I-85 and west of I-75 -- monitor the latest forecasts put out by the National Weather Service, and of course, monitor Georgia Weather Plus for live updates on the flooding threat.
Remember, if you or on the road and you see water on the road, TURN AROUND AND DON'T DROWN! You NEVER know how deep the water may be, so turning around is always the safest thing to do.
Here is my forecast for the rainfall totals in Georgia today.

Also, since Atlanta is by far the biggest city in Georgia, I have created a timeline for the rain in Atlanta, so that you'll know what to expect throughout the day.

Please stay right here for all updates on the rain! Live updates will be posted starting 4 or 5 PM! Thanks for tuning in!

Heavy Rainfall & Severe Weather

While there is not as much heavy rain as anticipated across the state today, much of the areas in Southern Georgia are still experiencing heavy rain and severe weather. There is still about a 40% chance that a Flash/River Flooding Awareness Day will be posted, but for now, it is a Severe Weather Awareness Day. Thus, all new Severe Thunderstorm/Tornado Warnings/Watches will be posted.

Heavy Rainfall Expected

The weather has been rather quiet over the past several days across Georgia, but we are expecting a period of heavy rain today through Monday across the state. Below is a setup outlook explaining why.

First, we will have a system that will cross the region today bringing the first round of showers and storms. Then, during the weekend, Invest 92-L, which will probably be a tropical storm by that time, will head into the Gulf Coast States and bring us more rain Saturday and Sunday. Also, a jest stream dip with cooler air to our west may result in some severe weather across Alabama and possibly the northwest sections of Georgia. In addition, the eastern side of the tropical system might bring a few isolated tornadoes across South and east Georgia. In short, expect a very wet weekend, and be prepared to postpone and/or cancel all outdoor activities.

Here is my rainfall forecast for today through Monday.

Expect 1 inch of rain as the least across Northwest Georgia, to as much as locally above 6 inches across Southern Georgia.

*Today will likely be a Flash/River Flooding Awareness Day. A notice will be posted with the final decision around 4 or 5 PM.*

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Flash Flooding Threats

A line of strong thunderstorms with small hail and gusty winds has entered Northwest Georgia, and will slowly chug across Northern Georgia, mainly to the north of I-20. While severe weather is not anticipated with this line, flash flooding may be a concern, and thus, a River/Flash Flooding Awareness Day -- announcing all new Flash Flood warnings -- might be needed shortly. If the storms will not weaken nor speed up in the next hour, the awareness day notice will be posted.

Rainfall Forecast for Thursday/Friday

Here is the anticipated rainfall forecast for today and tomorrow brought to you by Georgia Weather Plus:

The main threats will be flash flooding and river flooding, but an isolated severe storm might pop up too, bringing some gusty winds of 50-60 MPH.

*Chances are increasing for a River/Flash Flooding Awareness Day to be announced today, and only a slight increase in river/flash flooding activity will bring the need.*

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

*EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN*

Today is a River/Flash Flooding Action Day, because of numerous flash flooding and flooding across Georgia. Different locations have reported between 3 to 8 inches of rain, and locally as much as 10. In addition, widespread amounts of 2-5 inches can be expected as the day progresses with numerous bands of heavy rain. Also, some of these heavy rain bands and thunderstorms could become locally severe, and produce small hail mainly dime to nickel sized, and wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH.
I will post a map later today. Meanwhile, below is the current radar, together with some of the Flash Flood Warnings currently in effect. The green boxes are Flash Flood Warnings.
All new Flash Flood Warnings will be posted.

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Severe Weather Tomorrow

Isolated severe weather is expected tomorrow across the state of Georgia, besides the Northeast sector. Below is my forecast for it.

The main threats will be:
  • Damaging Winds 60+ MPH
  • Nickel-Sized Hail
  • Lightning
  • Heavy Rain
There will be another update tomorrow!

Georgia Forecast for 7/21/13 **SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS DAY**

Hey all,
Sorry for not posting daily forecasts, and live data here lately. I had lots of wild stuff going on, not mentioning making quite a few posts on our main forecast center (US Weather Plus usweatherplus.wordpress.com), and working on our Facebook page too.
Before I continue to my forecast for tomorrow, I want to announce some fresh news and changes in our forecasting program.
I have made different "action" days for Georgia, depending on the threat.

  • Severe Weather Awareness Day (When there is a chance of strong/severe storms).
  • Severe Weather Action Day (When there is a large severe weather event likely across the state).
  • River/Flash Flooding Action Day (When there is lots of flooding, both river and flash flooding).
  • Winter Weather Awareness Day (When there is a minor sleet/snow/ice event possible).
  • Winter Weather Action Day (When there is a sleet/ice/snow storm likely).
  • Tropical Weather Awareness Day (When remnants of a tropical depression or weak tropical storm may be impacting us).
  • Tropical Weather Action Day (When a tropical storm or hurricane is likely).
I declare tomorrow as a Severe Weather Awareness Day. The next time one of these "days" goes into effect, I'll put it onto my forecast map.
Below is my forecast map for tomorrow for Georgia. More details below.

Hot Blocking Pattern Possible Next Week and Weekend

Here is an outlook by GA Weather Plus regarding the hot pattern sue to high pressure blocking next week.

PLEASE NOTE: Even though it says sunny, during the summer, thunderstorm chances linger even when there is blocking, so even though widespread thunderstorm activity is not anticipated, a stray one might catch you by surprise.

Storms Today and Tonight Across Georgia

I am sorry for the lack of updates recently. I have been busy on our main site, US Weather Plus, and on the Facebook page, so please visit the site and like the page!

Looks like the severe weather threat is lower than previously mentioned, but the potential remains for some strong storms and rain, locally heavy.  Below is my forecast map for today and tonight.

The main threats in the orange areas will be:
  • Rain
  • Marginal Wind Gusts of 30-40 MPH
  • Minor Flooding
The main threats with the strongest storms in the red area will be:
  • Rain, Locally Heavy
  • Wind Gusts 40-50 MPH
  • Flooding/Flash Flooding
Northern Georgia is in a Flash Flood Watch Through All of Today and Tonight. Flash flooding may occur quickly due to the extremely saturated grounds. 0.5-1 inch of water would be enough for flash flooding, although as much as 3+ inches are possible with the strongest rain squalls.

Georgia Severe Weather Discussion & Forecast for 7/9/13

On Thursday, a front will impact our area. It looks like the front will bring some severe thunderstorms, although they will not be very widespread. Currently, confidence is increasing in a minor severe weather event across northern Georgia, and maybe even central and southern Georgia. Flaso flooding is going to be an enormous concern, due to the extremely saturated grounds and heavy rainfall we had over the past week. Even though additional rainfall will not be high, flash flooding will occur very quickly with storms, and river flooding even quicker.
Below is a graphic, which shows basically what we could be expecting with the front on Thursday. It is preliminary, and will be updated several times.

The main threats will be:
  • 40-60 MPH Strong Winds
  • Small Hail
  • Flash Flooding
  • Heavy Rain
Meanwhile, here is also the forecast for tomorrow for the state.

It looks like there will be summertime afternoon thunderstorms through Wednesday across the state, as well as for next weekend too. Stay tuned to our next update for Georgia tomorrow!

Georgia Forecast for 7/8/13

Here is my forecast for tomorrow.

There will be some flash flooding possible, especially in the box above, but the threats will not be as great as today. However, we could get additional rainfall from 0.5-1 inches across the region tomorrow.

A special extended forecast discussion is coming up tomorrow, concerning a potential severe weather threat late next week.

Georgia Forecast for Sunday 7/7/13

Main Threats With Storms

  • Winds Up To 50 MPH
  • Isolated Brief Tornado
  • Heavy Rain Squalls
  • Quick Flash Flooding
Flash flooding threats will be high tomorrow due to the already saturated grounds, and the potential the showers and storms have to produce heavy rainfall in a short amount of time.
