More Heavy Rain Coming!

Good morning everybody,
So far we had a wet start to the weekend, and around 0.5 to 2 inches fell on Saturday across Georgia, with the highest amounts across the southwestern counties of the state. Now, you probably long to ask, will this wet weather continue for Sunday? Absolutely. In fact, several factors will likely make today a washout! First of all, tropical moisture will be on the right track to hit the state, especially the western counties. Also, the approach of a low-pressure system together with a stationary front slowly rising to the west-northwest will bring in an all-day moderate to heavy rain event across much of Georgia. Please cancel all your outdoor plans for today, as we could be getting over 2 inches of rain in Southwest Georgia and even as much as an inch as far as the northwest sections of the state.
In addition, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia, issued a Flash Flood Watch through tonight.
In short, today is a River/Flash Flooding Awareness Day, and I recommend that all interests in Georgia -- especially those, who live roughly south of I-85 and west of I-75 -- monitor the latest forecasts put out by the National Weather Service, and of course, monitor Georgia Weather Plus for live updates on the flooding threat.
Remember, if you or on the road and you see water on the road, TURN AROUND AND DON'T DROWN! You NEVER know how deep the water may be, so turning around is always the safest thing to do.
Here is my forecast for the rainfall totals in Georgia today.

Also, since Atlanta is by far the biggest city in Georgia, I have created a timeline for the rain in Atlanta, so that you'll know what to expect throughout the day.

Please stay right here for all updates on the rain! Live updates will be posted starting 4 or 5 PM! Thanks for tuning in!
