Storms Today and Tonight Across Georgia

I am sorry for the lack of updates recently. I have been busy on our main site, US Weather Plus, and on the Facebook page, so please visit the site and like the page!

Looks like the severe weather threat is lower than previously mentioned, but the potential remains for some strong storms and rain, locally heavy.  Below is my forecast map for today and tonight.

The main threats in the orange areas will be:
  • Rain
  • Marginal Wind Gusts of 30-40 MPH
  • Minor Flooding
The main threats with the strongest storms in the red area will be:
  • Rain, Locally Heavy
  • Wind Gusts 40-50 MPH
  • Flooding/Flash Flooding
Northern Georgia is in a Flash Flood Watch Through All of Today and Tonight. Flash flooding may occur quickly due to the extremely saturated grounds. 0.5-1 inch of water would be enough for flash flooding, although as much as 3+ inches are possible with the strongest rain squalls.
